Fragility. What does that mean to you? Something frail? Is it delicate? Worthless or fleeting? Valuable? Deserving of care? The other day on a hike, I snapped these photos to include in a series about the death and re-birth of nature's life cycle. We are part of this cycle. One day our bodies are given back to the earth, and only our memories remain. We are what we leave behind. The lessons we taught, the children we may have had, the pain we inflicted on others, the families we shared our meals with, a photograph of a toothy grin that will bring someone to tears when they pull it out from between the clinched pages of a forgotten book. We are temporary here, just as the moving tide erases our footprints. What are you leaving behind?
